Globe Task

Recently we completed a review of GlobeTask (Globetask.com) a company that provides Virtual Associates. One question we originally thought of was, "What's the difference between a virtual assistant and a virtual associate?". Once we reviewed their site, that became quite apparent!

Their unique service provides skilled associates in various backgrounds, with specific skill sets. Some of these include:

  • Accounting
  • Administrative
  • Customer Relations
  • Home Assistance
  • Marketing
  • Transcription

GlobeTask Services

One thing that I noticed with GlobeTask's offerings was that they didn't hide the costs associated with their services. We visited about 5 other sites that offer a similar service and found that they wanted you to fill out a quote form. With Globe Task, they stated up from what the hourly cost was; offered plans that were pay as you go, monthly and based on the task you request.

Another thing that was important for me to understand was that they were not going to assign the same associate for all tasks; I personally prefer that the person who perform my accounting to stick to their skill set and don't wish to have them also doing my marketing.

I was pleased to find out that the associates they have are specifically selected on a per task basis; therefore you do not just have one person who will be the answer to all of your task based needs. Associates are assigned based on their knowledge and skill set which we believe is crucial to the quality of the deliverables you receive.

Globetask.com Skilled Virtual Associates

When we visited Globetask.com's website we noticed something at the bottom of their pages; it said, try our services for free. Needless to say, we took them up on their offer!

A full review of the services they offer was completed to decide just what tasks we needed and how we would benchmark their success. We determined that the best way to gauge the success of their service would be to carry out the exact same tasks ourselves, and then compare the results of the associate's deliverables and our deliverable.

We decided to select a PowerPoint Presentation as our task. We outlined all of the steps needed, provided all documents to the assigned associate, recorded the amount of time needed for us to complete the finished presentation and then waited for them to return their finished product.

Once the associate finished the PowerPoint Presentation and delivered it to us, we compared specific areas to gauge our success. Below is what we looked for:

  • Were the instructions we provided followed?
  • Was everything we provided incorporated into the presentation?
  • Was the quality of the presentation equal to or better than the quality of the report we completed?
  • Was it cost effective to have them complete this service?

The results were quite astounding:

  • Instructions - The instructions an outlined requirements of the PowerPoint Presentation were used as requested.
  • Data- All data that was provided for the purpose of creating the report was used as requested.
  • Quality- The quality of the PowerPoint Presentation exceeded our expectations and was of a much higher caliber than the report we created.
  • Time/ Cost - At approximately $12 per hour, the total time billed for them to create a report that was a much stronger presentation than ours, took them approximately 45 minutes less then what it took our team.

Based on the results, we will continue to test specific areas of the personal and professional services they offer; and make decisions on how their services could help us with administrative support.  If you have used a similar service and wish to share your experience, please email us!
