My Results On ADD
I ran off to the drug store and go my prescription of
Ritalin, to treat my newly diagnosed ADD. I did some
research online and found some things that said it could take
anywhere from 15-60 minutes for the medicine to start doing
anything.
I looked at the clock, it was 2:14 p.m. I got a glass
of water and took 10mg and waited.
Now let me tell you what usually happens with me, my brain
goes and goes and goes, constantly my mind is saying, you need
to do this, you need to do that. This is due, that's
overdue. Your going to lose this if you don't do this.
etc. About 40 minutes after taking this medication, my
mind stopped running like a runaway train. It stopped...
all the noise just stopped. My mind was as clear as day
with nothing on it. Then the oddest thing happened.
When something came to my mind, I just did it. I didn't
think about it, or say how I can't do it because I'm to busy, I
just did it. Stunning. And it kept happening.
Later that afternoon my husband came home and we sat down to
talk. Again, my mind is usually running with all things I
need to do, and I normally don't even really hear him. I
usually say, "huh?" because I missed most of what he said.
Well not today! I sat and listened to every word he said.
Everything! From his day, to about his boss, to about
those that work for him..... down to what he ate for lunch.
not one thing came into my mind. Wow.

I am now on my second day of
10mg 3 times per day and all I can say is wow! I
really can't believe how my life has changed
dramatically. I am sitting here finishing up some
work. My house is clean, my laundry is done, I
took a shower, did my hair and makeup, got dressed, saw
my kids off to school and have a full day planned- and
it's only 1:10 p.m. Be sure to stop back, as I
will be adding new stories about my struggles and
progression with ADD.
